Sarah Lazar

Sarah is going into her senior year at Eugene Lang, pursing her BA in Journalism and Design. She has an insatiable curiosity for different cultures and intercultural communication. She recently transferred to The New School, with an A.A. in Communications from Santa Barbara City College. She hopes to utilize her Journalism background to produce media with local organizations in Ethiopia, as well as assist teaching an academic writing course at the Center for Human Rights. Sarah’s long-term involvement, and on-site leadership training at the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda, inspired her to continue learning about the complex history and development of the country and of those in surrounding regions. She has also travelled extensively among 16 European and Southeast Asian countries during a seven-month backpacking trip. Her love for exploring and working with developing countries is what initially drew her to the IFP program. She is looking forward to contributing to the community as well as absorbing as much of the language and local culture during her time in Addis.
