Richard is an ambitious scholar that hails from the Midwest. He came from humble beginnings, as a young boy navigating through Detroit; he always knew he had a higher call to answer. That call was public service. Richard graduated from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy with a Bachelors of Arts in Public Policy. Richard considered a career in consulting immediately after his undergrad career but knew he would eventually want to have an advanced degree. He continued upon the academic route which led him to The New School. Richard is working toward his Master’s degree and has a concentration in conflict & security studies. He is looking forward to exploring Ethiopia. This will be Richard’s first time in Africa.
