Marte is passionate about creating space for women’s empowerment, participating in multicultural communities, and engaging interfaith dialogue. She recently completed a Master of Science in International Affairs with a concentration in Cities and Social Justice at The New School in New York, New York (2016). She received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Philosophy/Theology at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California (2008). Her previous experience includes supporting nonprofits spanning from Ireland to India while based at a media communications office at the Swiss-German border, partnering with refugee and immigrant students as a community liaison in Greeley, Colorado, and working as a facilitator with Building Bridges in Denver, Colorado, creating space for young people to address the root causes of hatred, discrimination, and violent conflict. Marte is thrilled to be interning in Addis Ababa with Hope for Children, an Australian non-government organization, sharing her time with their Anti-Human Trafficking/Women and Child Livelihood Program as well as their Child, Youth, and Community Enhancement Program.
